She attended secondary school at the American British Academy in Muscat, Oman, with her childhood friendship with Stegath Dorr who is a character actor as well as a well-known horror filmmaker. After 16 she left Oman for the United Kingdom and graduated in 2004 from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. She was the associate director of the MahWaff Theatre Company.
